Metal Fabricator
Talascend is currently seeking a Metal Fabricator for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
This role involves assembling, repairing, and fabricating metal parts by operating mechanical equipment. The fabricator uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels, working under supervision with minimal independent judgment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts using mechanical equipment
- Assemble parts into sub-units or complete units
- Review blueprints and design sketches for dimensions and tolerances
- Meet certifications as required in the field
- Lift weights exceeding 30 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
- Work in an environment with exposure to potential physical risks including machine, chemical, or biological hazards
Qualifications
- High school diploma (preferred)
- At least 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field
- Ability to meet certifications in the field
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
