Talascend is currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator for a contract opportunity with our client in Chickasaw, Alabama.
Overview
This role involves supporting international shipments and export compliance, coordinating global logistics operations, and ensuring regulatory adherence across various transportation modes.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and develop logistics plans affecting production, distribution, and inventory
- Create and review distribution and inventory management procedures
- Maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing costs
- Coordinate shipments and support global logistics operations
- Ensure regulatory compliance for international transportation
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of related experience
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of transportation modes: ocean (LCL, FCL), air, road, rail
- Understanding of hazardous materials shipping compliance: IATA, IMDG, DOT, U.S. export regulations, and country-specific import/export requirements
- Experience preparing international shipping documents such as commercial/customs invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, free trade agreement documentation, bills of lading, and certificates of analysis
- Ability to analyze logistics data and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership
- Ability to prioritize and work with urgency, demonstrating accountability and responsiveness
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
