Talascend is currently seeking a Business Applications System Administrator for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia.

Overview

This role involves managing, supporting, and optimizing critical business applications such as iManage, eRooms, Confluence, and Jira to ensure their efficient, secure, and reliable operation in a government environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support core business applications: iManage, eRooms, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Perform system configuration, updates, and patches to ensure applications are running at peak performance and meet business needs.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to application performance, user access, and system integration.
  • Monitor system health, logs, and performance metrics, and resolve issues or bottlenecks.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and roles for proper access control.
  • Assess system performance regularly and implement improvements to enhance speed, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Ensure backup and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested.
  • Configure and maintain custom workflows, automations, and add-ons in Confluence and Jira.
  • Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply software updates, patches, and security fixes to keep applications secure and up-to-date.
  • Participate in change management processes to ensure smooth transitions during updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience administering business applications such as iManage, eRooms, Confluence, and Jira or similar systems.
  • Proficiency in administering and supporting iManage, eRooms, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Familiarity with SQL and basic scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning for business applications.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, security practices, and system integration techniques.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and support both daily operations and long-term projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
