Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in El Paso, Texas.

Overview

The role involves providing general maintenance support for the assigned buildings, ensuring safety, security, and proper functioning of facility systems. The technician will perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot various mechanical and electrical systems within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Troubleshoot power, HVAC systems and controls, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain general and preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing systems, and vendor management.
  • Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
  • Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in facilities, boilers, or mechanical systems required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with strong mechanical background, including boilers and chillers preferred.
  • Experience in routine maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Skills in interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
  • Basic ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
